Performers - Performance Issue: Why does my audio sound distorted?
Why does my audio sound distorted?
- Typically this is an issue of overloading either the Operating System (OS) sound [input] or the broadcaster sound input.
- Here are some tips on sorting this issue out:
1.) Ensure the VU Meter on the broadcaster is not flashing red. If it is, please slide the button on the Level slider to the left to lower the input signal. If this does not solve the issue, please refer to 2.)2.) You may need to go into Operating System Preferences (system preferences on MAC / control panel on Windows) to go directly into your Sound/Audio control in order to lower the input level of your Built-in mic or Line input. If this is the case, we’ve found that the best settings are as follows:Set the audio input on your computer to around 20-25%Then adjust the level on the Stageit broadcaster to an overall volume of about 75%, and then work from there. If this does not solve the issue, please refer to 3.)3.) If you're using external audio equipment, you may need to adjust the output level of the device sending the audio to the computer.
