What kind of video equipment can I use?

Here is a listing of stuff we like and know works well with our system.

WEBCAMS

• Pretty much every webcam should work - built-in and USB.

• Logitech and Microsoft webcams work great and are USB connected.

DV CAMERAS

Most Standard DV cameras should work but before committing, please check the manufacturer specs to ensure that it is capable of streaming.

1. Connect the camera to the computer.

• The best way is connecting with Firewire directly on Macs. For Windows you will probably need a video capture card or a Firewire card.
• You may also be able to connect your DV camera via USB (Firewire is still likely the better option).

2. Check to see that your computer sees the camera. You can do this by using a program like Adobe Flash Media Live Encoder.
