Performers - Advanced Production: Using multiple cameras
How do I use multiple cameras?
In order to use either of these setups, please refer to this article on using external cameras.
Multiple USB Webcams
- You can easily connect a few USB cameras to your computer and run them through production software such as Wirecast. This will enable you to select each camera angle on the fly, while your event is in process.
Higher Quality (s-video, composite, SDI and HD-SDI and other feeds)
- These will likely need to be run through a camera switcher (exception: in the case of venue feeds, which would already be sending from a camera switcher). There are many camera switchers out there, and they range from about $1,500 used to $40,000 new in the case of a NewTek Tricaster.
- The TriCaster is fantastic. It's basically a news studio in a box. It will allow you to do many cool production related moves and broadcast directly to Stageit.
- If you're receiving a pre-produced feed from a venue, you can use a device such as a Canopus ADVC 110 to bring the video feed into your computer. Then you'll need software such as Wirecast or Adobe FMLE to encode and broadcast the feed.
PLEASE NOTE: Unlike other platforms that provide a single 'channel' through which performers broadcast, since Stageit monetizes individual shows, Stageit creates a unique channel for each individual show. Due to this, each XML downloaded is 'one-time-use'. Please do not use the XML for your proper show as a test file. This will start and end your proper show. Please create a test/soundcheck show for the purpose of testing.
Additionally clicking START or BROADCAST on your desktop client will result in the starting of the show. Once the show starts, the show timer will begin. Please do not click START or BROADCAST until you are ready to broadcast.
- Under XML, click the button to download XML for Adobe FMLE.
- When you download this type of file for your Actual Performance, please download the file for your Actual Performance and rename the name to match the name of your Actual Performance.
- When you download this type of file for your System Check or Soundcheck, there is no need to rename the file.
- Renaming the file is purely to assist in the selection of the correct file for the respective event.
- Go to FILE
- Open Profile
- Select fmle_config.xml (or whatever you have renamed the file to)
- Click Start on FMLE (or Broadcast on Wirecast)
- Your StageIt broadcast will begin the moment you click Start on Adobe FMLE. (or Broadcast on Wirecast)
- Click End Show on StageIt
- Click Stop on FMLE (If you don't do this, it is possible that the audio will continue to broadcast.) (or Broadcast on Wirecast)
