Performers: Suggested gear setups to get you started

Here are just a few scenarios that describe how to get started performing on Stageit:

SCENARIO: No muss, no fuss - just use the built-ins

The easiest way to start doing shows on StageIt. This setup will work nearly anywhere, for nearly any show.

1. Grab your gear: One computer with built-in mic and built-in camera
2. Select the Built-in Mic as the Audio Source within the Controls on the StageIt Show Stage
3. Select the Built-in Camera as the Video Source within the Controls on the StageIt Show Stage

SCENARIO: Bringing multiple audio signals in from a typical mixing board

GEAR: One mixing board, one stereo 1/4 inch to mini cable, one computer.

1. Plug the mics directly into the mixer
2. Plug the mixer into your computer using the stereo 1/4 inch to mini plug
3. Select the line-input as the Audio Source within the Controls on the StageIt Show Stage

SCENARIO: I want to use backing tracks. I have music files to play as backup

GEAR: Two mics, two XLR cables, mp3 player, one mixer, one computer.

1. Plug the mics directly into the mixer
2. Plug the mp3 player directly into the mixer
3. Plug the mixer into your computer using the stereo 1/4 inch to mini plug
4. Select the line-input as the Audio Source within the Controls on the StageIt Show Stage

SCENARIO: Solo performer with an instrument or duo with two room mics using a mixer

GEAR: Two mics, two XLR cables, one mixer, one computer. 

1. Plug the mics directly into the mixer
2. Plug the mixer into your computer using the stereo 1/4 inch to mini plug
3. Select the line-input as the Audio Source within the Controls on the StageIt Show Stage

SCENARIO: Performer using an Apogee or LINE 6 device

GEAR: Apogee and Line 6 device

1. Plug the mics directly into the Apogee or LINE 6 device
2. Connect the device to the computer via the USB cable
3. Select the Line Input as the Audio Source within the Controls on the StageIt Show Stage
